Councilman Jay McChord presented a check
for $1000.00 to Dr. Debra Anderson, PTSA President at Bryan
Station High School for Station’s participation at the recent
Second Sunday (2S) event in downtown Lexington. All PTSAs in
Fayette County were challenged by the 2S organizers to bring
their students downtown and demonstrate their commitment to
being active in Kentucky. BSHS had the largest percentage of
students in attendance. The PTSA had extended the challenge to
the student activity and sport groups at Bryan Station, offering
a cash award for the organization with the most students
present.

In the above photo are Stu Silberman,
Superintendent of FCPS, Dr. Anderson, Shae Rabold, Jessica
Berry, President of the 16th District PTA, and
Councilman McChord. Following the presentation of the award to
Dr. Anderson, she went to BSHS where the BSHS Step Team was
practicing.

The photo above was taken when Dr. Anderson
shared the information with Ms. Overstreet, Advisor of the Step
Team, that they had the largest student group at 2S and they
would receive $300.00 from the PTSA for their effort. The Step
Team gave an awesome performance at the 2S event.
