The Lady Defenders closed out their regular
season home schedule this week with two more wins, raising their
season record to 21-11. Bryan Station finished strongly to
defeat Grant Co. 3-1 last Friday night, (24-26, 25-9, 25-12) and
followed up that performance Tuesday on Senior night with a 2-0
win over Madison Central, (25-20,25-21). On an emotional night,
the team honored their
six
graduating seniors and their parents. We would like to give a
big thank you to these fine young women and their families for
all their hard work and dedication to the volleyball program .
Our Seniors are Tia Blakeman, defensive specialist, Surya
Sandusky, outside hitter, Elizabeth, (Izzy), Stone, middle
blocker/hitter,
Nealy Williams, middle blocker/hitter, Lisa Zangari,
defensive specialist,
and Coya Jackson, scorekeeper. It has been fun watching
this group grow together as they have matured, competed and
contributed to the success of their team and their school. Well
done, Ladies!!
The win over Madison
Central completed a 6-0 sweep this season for Bryan Station over
their three District 42 rivals with 2 wins apiece over Madison
Central, Madison Southern, and Berea. The Lady Defenders will
finish out the regular season this coming week with two tough
road tests at Woodford Co. and Pulaski Co. completing their
final tune-ups before hosting the upcoming District 42
tournament.
