Defenders defeat Ashland 34-20, obtain three
victories in a season and clinch a playoff spot for
the first time since 2000.
Terrell Combs and D.L. Wilhite both scored two
touchdowns and the Defenders jumped out to a 34-7
advantage.
Lance Morton found
Combs for a 78-yard touchdown on the third offensive
play of the game and the Defenders scored 20 points
in the first quarter.
Combs caught four passes for 97 yards and ran
twice for 48 yards. Wilhite had 14 rushes for 89
yards. Ashland got
two late touchdowns from Matt Thomas and Blake
McLeod to narrow the final margin.
