The Defenders, rated No. 4 in Dave
Cantrall's Rating the State, knocked off No. 2 Mason
County 65-54 on the Royals' home court on senior
night in front of 3,000 fans. Did Bryan Station
regain its mojo just in time for post-season play?
"If we didn't, we'll be scary when we
do," Coach Champ Ligon said. "This was a big win for
us, but they're all just practice. They start for
real next week with the district."
Shelvin Mack led Bryan Station with
24 points, 13 rebounds, three assists and three
steals to help the Defenders avenge a season-opening
84-71 loss to Mason County.
